Parking is just off Highway 1. You must park facing south, but if you are heading north you can turn right onto Schooner Gulch road and park on the shoulder. Be careful crossing Highway 1. The trail to Schooner Gulch Beach is at the south end of the parking area. The trail at the north end will take you up along the cliffs and, to the north, "Bowling Ball" beach.
The trail down to the beach is short but verdant with native north California plants, including redwoods. Jan walks Hugo down. Dogs must be on leash.
The view from the trail as you come out of the trees is breathtaking.
